Six Bridges Literary Festival in Little Rock, Arkansas will host a virtual conversation between Stephanie Storey and fellow historical novelist Afia Atakora, author of Conjure Women, about the world of the South before and after the Civil War. It tells the story of three unforgettable women: Miss May Belle, a wise healing woman; her precocious daughter Rue, who is reluctant to follow in her mother’s footsteps as a midwife; and their master’s white daughter Varina.

Atakora and Storey will talk about the research and imagination involved in writing historical fiction. This is a conversation you don’t want to miss!
