Here it is, the announcement I've been waiting to make since I was seven years old: My debut novel, Oil and Marble, will be published by Arcade.
I first asked the question that inspired the book back in 1997, while attending a PhD program in St. Louis. I decided to write the story in 2006 -- but it started out as a screenplay. After years of research, I dedicated myself to writing the novel in early 2011. I finished the manuscript in the spring of 2014. Now, just two weeks before my 40th birthday, I'm finally here.
