3 Major Impressionist Exhibits for 2019 Holidays

From now until early 2020, you can see three major Impressionist exhibits in the US… So if you’re feeling the need to inject some beauty into your life, then plan a trip to drink in some Impressionism this holiday season at the following three exhibits:

I was so enamored by this exhibit that I wrote a whole piece about why you should go. It’s a GIANT exhibit exploring Monet’s evolution as an artist and his obsession with nature. I can’t recommend this one highly enough. Buy tickets early as it’s already selling out. In Denver (its only stop in the US) through the beginning of February.

This exhibit—featuring approximately 60 paintings by Renoir—explores the artist’s depictions of the human form, especially women. When I was a kid, I became enamored with Renoir precisely because there were so many women in his paintings—I saw myself in his work and I still do. This is a beautiful exhibit exploring the female form—and it’s in Ft. Worth through the end of January 2020.

This is a rare chance to explore Berthe Morisot’s portraiture—especially of women of 19th century Paris. While you’re at the MFA in Houston, you can also check out Monet to Picasso: A Very Private Collection which covers other modernist greats. The only place you can see these two exhibits is at MFA Houston — so get there before mid-January or else you’ll miss out.

There are plenty of other places to visit the Impressionists in the US… Let me know—in the comments below or on social—what other exhibits I’m missing or where YOUR favorite Impressionists live in the US.
